Switching with an overdraft

Options
Hi, I hope this is in the right place.

I currently have an overdraft with Santander of £1700 and looking to switch to the Nationwide FlexDirect account which has a 0% overdraft for 12 months.

I have a reasonably good credit history but want to make sure Nationwide will match my £1700 overdraft when switching.

Do you know if it is best to apply online using the 7 day switch guarantee, or should I apply in branch? Will I get an overdraft offered/confirmed before actually going ahead with the switch?

Thanks, Ed

Applying for an account and switching to an account are two separate processes. Therefore you should know whether & what overdraft facility you will be offered before you ask for the switch. I don't think you can apply for a FlexDirect in Branch as it is exclusively an online account.

You shouldn't apply for the switch before your new account is fully operational, i.e. you have full online access, a card reader, a debit card and a PIN. This can take considerable time to come through.

If you got for the switch, you could probably benefit from the Refer A Friend Offer - details on the Nationwide website.
