Sky high car insurance

Hey everyone :)

Basically, I just wanted to know if this was a decent quote.

21 Years of age
Just passed less than a month ago
2002 Renault Clio Express
4000 miles a year
(not sure what else you need)

Deposit of £275
Monthly payments £180.

I only query this as it seems okay to me... But I was talking to my cousin, he got his car insured when he first passed at 17, got a car a couple of years older than mine but he has diabetes and his car insurance is cheaper then mine and I'm not sure why, does anyone have any idea why that could be? I can't remember how much he said but I remember him saying his was slightly cheaper.

This is the cheapest one I can find going on compare sites and looking up ones that aren't on the sites...

Also I was going to call them up to see if I can get anything cheaper, do you think passed first time with no minors would count for anything?!

Thanks!

By all means call, but you either have licence or you don't - first time won't make a difference.

Ignore what others pay. Assuming you have followed all the guidance on MSE then your price is your price. Have you tried Aviva and Directline who aren't on comparison websites?

Your annual mileage is quite low. Contrary to popular belief low mileage is necessarily a good thing because it indicates that you won't be driving very often so won't be getting much experience. However, if you're only going to do 4/5,000 don't put in 8/9,000 miles.
Passing with no minors won't make any difference but taking the Pass Plus will lower your premium, but you have to pay for it and I think there's. Time limit for taking it after passing your test.
