Thanks for the help, so far I have tackled my bedroom all except for scanning the photos - I will have to do that after the move.

We will need new curtains when we move and I found some I saved when I cleared out mums house. I saved them because they were heavy, good quality ones, but the colour really isn't what I would ever buy. My frugal side made me keep them, but I think I will just buy some more to our taste. I'm sure the charity shop will find them a good home!

such good and helpful answers on here but as a very severe hoarder I know that its all easier said than done. One tip I learned was that if you spend an hour or two and have made bags or boxes of various things, such as to go to the charity shop, to go to your sister/children etc etc GET THEM OUT OF THE HOUSE the same day. Dont leave them in the hall to go 'tomorrow' because chances are you'll rescue some of them. If you can take them away at once you'll be more successful :)

There are people who make souvenir personalised teddies using old favourite baby clothes, for example, the body out of a specific vest, head made from an old babygro, arms and legs from two other items you want to be reminded off for sentimental reasons.

You send the items you want them to use and they send you the finished item.
A minute at the till, a lifetime on the bill.

Nothing tastes as good as being slim feels.

photos are easy.. scan them.. back up the pc.. and bin them. They fad eover time or may be lost in a flood or fire or damaged by damp.. store a digital copy where they will not degrade.

Cuddly toys.. harbingers of filth, germs and space stealing.. charity shop if they are in decent condition or just bin them.. as an adult why do people buy them? Just get rid! (I got a build-a-bear grinch to use as a christmas ornament!)

a belt.. seriously.. bin it.. it's junk.. unless it is solid gold in which case weigh it in!

Mothers day cards again scan them or get a nice storage box to keep them in.. you won't have as many as I do! lol.

holiday knick knacks.. photograph (digital!) and charity shop.

Where do you keep memories?? Would you forget about these people or places if you didn't have these things? Would you forget your children or your mum or your holidays??? Of course you wouldn't.. these are just junk, filling your home, cluttering your mind and what is meant to be your happy space.. get rid of it all and clear yourself of the burden of it!

When we moved we put all the unsorted stuff in one room and gradually went through flinging most of it as I went.. it was not allowed out of that room unless it had a home or was leaving the house.

My house has too many peope to hang on to worthless bits of tat my children will bin when i die.
