PPI on old defaulted accounts

Hi guys,
I defaulted on several accounts back in 2008. They obvs dropped off in 2014 and I am completely debt free now. I can't remember who the companies were now though so is there any way of finding this out? If so, do I write to the old companies the credit cards were with or the defaulters? Sorry if this has already been answered...

Not quite. Whilst they are now statute barred, they do still exist. If you complain about PPI and the uphold your complaint, they don't have to pay you the redress as they can offset it against the amount defaulted. Thankfully, the rules are common sense on this as it would be illogical to pay you redress when you never paid the debt in the first place.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Yes, but unable to demand a refund of money you didn't pay in the first place. Did you really expect to default and also receive PPI redress?RobbieD1506 wrote: »I am completely debt free now.0
