I can satisfy term (a) but not term (b) and I don't satisfy term (c). Do you think they're possibly missing the word "or" between (a) and (b)? To me, term 11.2 reads as if you should be satisfying all three sub terms to get the fiver. What do you think?0

It has to be either/or, because I'm pretty sure there is no pay in requirement for those who hold an Ultimate Reward. It would also make no sense to require both (a) and (b). So providing you had been making £1000 credits to your current account when you applied for the credit card, you would qualify by those terms.
Yes, if that's what you think then there is some ambiguity there that they would do well to correct.
I just checked and can see that I obtained the Clarity Card sometime in October last and I've noted that for each month between then and this month that I have indeed passed the 1k through the Reward current account.0 -
You need to satisfy one of the conditions to be eligible for the £5 reward with the Clarity card.
I applied for mine online a couple of years ago and receive the Reward.0 -
Well, what a duffer. I've had the Reward accounts for years, but sadly, only acquired the Clarity Card a couple of months back, and, I applied for it online. So I guess there's no reward for me then! Thanks for the clarification.
I'm sure you'll qualify for the £5 pm. I'm in similar a position.
In July last year I increased my monthly funding to my Halifax Reward account from £750 to £1000. Applied online for the Clarity credit card in September, primarily for overseas spending.
I ensure I spend at least £305 every month and have received the £5 each month:)0 -

Hi,
Just thought I'd chip in here.
I have had 3 reward accounts for the monthly round robin for a number of years now and always reclaimed the Tax in all cases and the HMRC never refused this.
Before I started paying tax - I was self funding for about 5/6 years on a kings shilling payment - I used to just send a letter to tax man.
My OH is still not paying tax before she pulls her pension and we have always filled out the R40 Section 3.1 & 3.2 along with all her other interest and dividends details. The tax man has never quibbled this - probably < £100 was over paid - in the case of HFX accounts it was £45 overpaid a year (3 accounts - £1.25 each a month)
Hope this helps
PS never claimed the Clarity one though - but religiously spend the £300/month before switching to Tesco CC to get it. As Tesco says every little helps.0 -
Yes I've now looked at Sec 11 of the terms and was going nicely until I got to term 11.2 (b)
11.2 - To be eligible for the reward set out in condition 11.1, you must, at the time you enter into this agreement:-
(a) hold a Halifax current account and pay in £1,000 or more each month;
(b) use our switching service to move your current account to a Halifax Current Account and agree to pay in £1,000 or more each month;
(c) open or hold a Halifax Ultimate Reward Current Account.
I can satisfy term (a) but not term (b) and I don't satisfy term (c). Do you think they're possibly missing the word "or" between (a) and (b)? To me, term 11.2 reads as if you should be satisfying all three sub terms to get the fiver. What do you think?
That you have to abide by terms a, b & c, no either, and or!0 -
For me I only had to set up the accounts and pass in £1000 a month into each account to get the £5 - It was a long time ago though. I'm not sure but I think the £1000 was reduced to 750 but I use 1000 as its quicker and easier to work with. These days I don't have to transfer in from another bank as I have BOS account with money in to get the interest and I can see both HFX and BOS in one screen of the online access.0
