Thanks, I did read that section however it didn't appear clear to me whether as joint account holders we could open one flexclusive savers acc each or if it was just one per flex current account0 -

You can both open one but this is what you`ll need to do:
http://www.nationwide.co.uk/products/savings/flexclusive-regular-saver/start-application-flexclusive-regular-saver
If you have a joint current account, do not log in but apply for a sole regular saver account, saying you`re not registered for online banking.Later on in the process it asks again if you are registered and you can then put yes.
If you say yes initially, it will ask you to log in and then you can only have a joint account.
When you apply for a sole account, saying you`re not registered, then nowhere during the process does it give you a choice about having a debit card. They automatically issue one.0 -

Apologies for resurrecting an older thread but we have just needed to apply for new Flexclusive Regular Savers. I recall following this process with our first ones and did it this way yesterday. On the applications we were not asked a second time if we are registered for online banking so were notified at completion of the application that the Nationwide team will process them and it will take 5 days or so. I was hoping to get a December payment into them but doesn't seem likely now.0 -

The trick was to make your first new Dec.payment from your matured reg saver which became flexsaver issue 8.
That account was in your own name and that allows you to make a payment into your new reg saver account.
If you haven`t got an account in your own name NW (online) assumes you can only have a joint account reg saver as the money can only come from the joint account.
When my reg saver matured into a flexsaver issue 8, I applied for a new 5% reg saver and transferred £500 from issue 8.
I then transferred the rest of the money from issue 8 into another account and sent them a secure message to close it.0 -

Thanks very much for explaining that 2010. I didn't realise that was a workaround. I'll bear it in mind if the option still exists next year!0 -
I managed to open a flexclusive regular saver (5%)and a regular saver (2%) in December 2016 paying £500 into each but Nationwide have now closed the regular saver (2%) moving the £500 plus interest to the flexsaver issue 8 and informed me I am only allowed one regular saver with them."Look after your pennies and your pounds will look after themselves"0
