Section 75 query

in Credit cards
Thanks to everyone on here for all the fantastic advice over the years...
I recently bought a car. I put the deposit and a portion of the cost onto a credit card for Section 75 protection in case anything went wonky in the sale. Nothing did, its been three months and the car has been faultless.
I have now paid off the outstanding balance on the credit card and was going to close it but I'm wondering should I keep it open in case something does go wrong with the car and to allow me some Section 75 type protection or is that protection gone as I have now taken receipt of the car...?
TIA

What kind of s75 cover are you hoping for?
S75 is not a warranty.0 -
Agreed, not expecting a warranty. In the unlikely event that something was fundamentally wrong with car at time of purchase that was not picked up until later.
Anyway, I should have searched as the answer is on the main site at a link I can't post in the shopping section. The card can be closed and still afford protection.0 -
even when you pay on a card, trust me it can outway the cost as you have to obtain expensive reports and with used they can say wear and tearDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Indeed, that is correct.0
