PPI claim from a company that has ceased trading

I have recently found some paperwork for an income replacer that my husband took out in 1996 this has PPI added to it, we stopped paying for this policy not sure when so we do not have any recent correspondence. The problem is the company has ceased trading which was N & P Insurance and Investment services ltd. How do I find who is now responsible for this company to make a PPI claim, has anyone experienced the same problem any suggestions

After 20 years this would be a no go, you have no paperwork, the company has ceased trading and they would not have been regulated anyway in 96.
  • How do I go about claiming a refund for missold PPI from Bristol and West who was taken over by Britannia who in turn was taken over by the Cooperative bank?

    Thanks for any help.

You dont. You make a cmplaint and provide documents to prove your complaint.

No. Bristol and West was taken over by the Bank of Ireland. The BOI later sold the savings business and the branch network to Britannia, but the loans remained with BOI.

Hence any complaint regarding the sale of PPI should be directed to the Bank of Ireland.

As far as I'm aware 'income replacer' is an insurance policy designed to replace your working income should you be off work. I don't understand how you can have PPI added to an insurance policy that is PPI?

That does not make any sense. PPI is a budget form of income replacement. Whereas income replacement offered by life companies is full income protection and would not have PPI added to it.

Can you give the description of what you think this actually covers as I am guessing you are mixing things up. If it was a multi-segment plan, then its possible it had waiver of premium but that is not PPI.

Anyway, non-investment backed insurance was not regulated until Jan 2005 and the company you mention don't exist any more. So, you have no-one to complain to.

So sorry - not used to using a forum and thought I had started my own thread. Will be more careful next time. Thanks for your advice.
