Federal tyres

Just phoning around to get a few quotes for x2 new front tyres. Looking for a decent brand tyre. One smallish garage recommended Federal Tyres. Which he admitted were a budget tyre but said they were v. good and has been fitting them for years, even on his wife's Merc! I don't think he's pulling a line and trying to clear a stock of cheap tyres cause they're more of a garage than a tyre fitter.
Just wondering if anyone has had any experiences of Federals? Personally I've not heard of them before. £44 each for those who care. Next on the list would be Goodyears at £55 each from a different garage. Both all in prices. Will probably end up going for the Goodyears...

deoends on your driving and if you have alloys, my friends all use federal from fiesta to mgzs 180 `s and have never had problems, they are a good tyre i have just clocked up 2000 miles on my first set and they are very grippy in the wet and dry (still waiting to try in snow) at £35 they are comparable to my perellie p6000`s i had a few years ago so in my books if they last 20 000 miles then there getting replaced with federals again. Apparently the spotier tyre the 595`s is the same tred pattern as toyo proxies.
have a look at www.mytyres.co.uk to read reviews and get prices, you can price up and choose a fitting station .. in money saving fashion take a not of the fitting station and phone them direct they will normaly do it cheaper than ordering through my tyres. If it doesnt pay rent sell it.

My wife's got Federals on her Peugeot 206cc 2 litre. Never had a problem with them. I've driven it quite hard and they grip really well considering it's a big engine in a light car.0
