Daily comps

Options
can somebody please try and explain to me why a competition that is only open from 6am to 6pm on one day needs to be linked into the daily thread.
I do it just for fun and whatever I win is a bonus

I don't use it but my understanding is

Daily - competitions you can enter everyday for more than one day - posted in dailies so end-daters can catch them before the last day.

If it's simply competitions that are only open for a day there would be loads of them and updating the index would take ages.

it may not 'need' to be but apparently is very helpful for lots
    when it is,
    surely that's a good thing ?
the sunday hourly ones have always been added to the
daily thread & they are only for a day.

Entry Open For One Day Only - Regularly Occurring or short end date

No idea - don't use it - and probably a complete waste of time for me

I enter comps as they appear on the board - if any are daily that I wish to enter I bookmark them in a folder called "Daily" - then every morning before I start on the board I open all the "Daily" comps saved in the folder in new tabs.... enter then move on to the main board

many a time I've been very busy doing other
comps & have had notification from the
daily thread there's been a new comp added
to the thread (as i'm subscribed to dailys)
so I can then head straight to the comp &
find it quickly on main through the linked
    one beore the closing time,
so anyone who's subscribed to the thread
would get the instant notification & be able to
find the comp quickly before it finished.

I find it really helpful as I rarely look at the first page, I enter comps the day after they have been posted and so usually miss any 24 hour competitions.

It's useful for end-date enterers who are a day or so ahead as they won't see any comp that's posted the day it finishes or even if they're working on E:07/02 and it's posted on 06/02. (Hope I've explained that OK? :) )

There was discussion some time back on having a sticky for such comps for this very reason, but it got shouted down.
