After all the hassle I had with BT over them changing my phone number after promising me they wouldn't, they have now put it all right ! I contacted the executive office as someone on here (thanks and sorry can't remember who it was) suggested and they got it all sorted for me so I now have my old number back again.

They also made a generous offer (after I suggested that I would expect a little bit of a 'sweetener') and have refunded me Jan & Febs payments plus 3 months line rental. Comes to just under £100 which I am more than happy with. Actually, its been nice and quiet for the past few weeks - no marketing or spam phone calls. They all started again yesterday though immediately they changed me back to my old number - the preference scheme for blocking calls doesn't work very well.
tbw, so pleased that you got your number back with BT and that my suggestion to contact Libby Barr was successful. I am glad it worked for you, as it has for others, that I have suggested the same course of action to.

Juji, I am sorry I couldn't remember who suggested this - your advice really worked a treat. I got a very quick response from one of her staff who took my problem onboard, took immediate steps to sort it and kept me fully informed of exactly what was happening and notified me when the switch would be completed - and then phoned me the same day just to check that all was working properly again. I was impressed with the service level - just a shame that they B'd everything up in the beginning and that the call centre (in India I think) were unable/unwilling to do anything and just kept fobbing me off.

No need to apologise....I am just so happy it all worked out for you, and am glad to be able to give something back to the elite.
I think VT said she was having some issues with her new house?...so I hope she tries Libby too, if she still has problems.
