However, perhaps more usefully, the 'not apologising' may be an Asperger's thing. Whilst this now is a generalisation - we don't apologise for anything unless we see why we should. I remember one incident in my primary school days - I don't now remember what I did - probably didn't say sorry for inadvertently bumping into someone or something like that - but teachers pulled me aside, put me on a chair in a room and asked me to apologise for whatever it was I'd done or not done. I wouldn't - I didn't see that I had done anything wrong and therefore didn't see that there was anything to apologise for.
"Say sorry" they kept saying. I wouldn't. They kept me there for the best part of over half a school day - several hours:eek::eek:. Three, four hours later, I still would not say "sorry". I had done nothing wrong. Now, if I had done something wrong, I would have immediately apologised at the very outset (and probably without them even asking or telling me to). However, I hadn't done anything wrong so I wasn't going to say sorry (for something I had no reason to apologise for - logical yeah?). The situation was only ended when, eventually, after about five hours I say "sorry" but only because of the duress and length of time I had been kept there - I didn't mean it at all and never meant it and I wasn't sorry.
Why is it unacceptable to use "that language" (as you put it)? (And what do you mean by "that"?)
From my detached ivory tower, I can only look (and to some extent with bemusement/amusement/marvel I'm afraid) at the problems that the use of "that" word causes from time to time and all the commotions that people generally create over it, including yourself now. Had "that" word never been considered to be swearing from any time at all in the history of the English language, then none of this situation with you and him would have arisen and no-one would have ever been caused upset by anything. It's caused so many arguments and disputes that, without that concept being created, would never have arisen in the first place. I know, including arguments that I've had - when, in the past, I've told other people not to "swear" (being the Asperger rule-policeman that I used to be until I learned better).
Anyway: let's get the argument sorted on this (in the sense of debate rather than argument) - and ask the question: why is it unacceptable to use that word?
(If this next part comes across a bit harshly, it's not meant to be. I can't think of any way so I will say it straight.) You're saying that it is unacceptable, so are the one with the burden of proof to prove your own assertion that it is unacceptable (it is for those who make a claim to show that it is true - I don't accept anything without substantiated evidence remember!). Just seeing what your answer to that is - and then I'll ask a question about it and then we'll go round in circles:rotfl:.
Why is it unacceptable?
(It's not that I don't know: it is that I want to know what answer you give to that question.)
Bless you savvy  if that's you not getting into it then I won't get you involved
I'm more confused than ever now
to answer your question, it's unacceptable to me because I've not brought my children up to swear, swearing is not nice and doesn't convey a good message, it's possible to convey a message without expletives. And it's just not classy. I have sworn on a few occasions in my life but not in front of my children, or when it mattered in my career.....probably only in a very personal times of getting bad news. I dont swear as a rule generally. I dont like it and I've been challenged about that tonight.
I'm not sure I like having conversations that question my opinions on life0 -
My errant DD is home. I won't go into why but I've had good reason to stay up and make sure she is home safe and well lately. She doesn't like it one bit! But I won't stop doing it
She is stubborn but she didn't pull that from thin air. I'm more than a match for her Ladyship.
I actually think I'm winning0 -
Must remember not to swear in front of you FC!
It is one of my bad habits I must admit...those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind.

Why is it a "bad" habit? What's "bad" about it?
(And why are you embarrassed about "admitting" to it?)0 -

I almost forgot that those potatoes were against M!:rotfl::rotfl: I've obviously not been doing an M comp. for a while but I was avoiding them when doing vs T (and the Spaghetti tins too!) due to how more expensive T has been for a while... and, due to TBG, anyone who buys Value Potatoes tin or Value Spaghetti in T does not get compensated for it (overpaying vs A/M). That said, I find vs T is the easiest shopping basket to compare - given that they are not usually more expensive on their Value range stuff. The worst one is vs S:eek: - I always have a deal of difficulty - and undoubtedly compounded by my Asperger's and my desire to get everything to perfection that comes from it - getting everything in the basket to be best value vs S (and not be N/A and technically lose vs a same price elsewhere) - maybe I should just forget about trying to get everything like that and not concern about 1p/2p 'losses' when essential to getting much much more from a glitch that vastly outweighs the minor loss that was essential to getting enough items and the glitch in the first place. Vs W also gets me a little - but not as badly as vs S where items can be much higher price! - with its N/A on SP and even 10p Haribos that it does not sell that 'should' therefore go vs elsewhere. Is it Rice Pudding I had the other day (vs T) that is twice as expensive at S?
There's so little (of the cheapest SP range that I generally use) that you can put against S and not lose money or not get as good a comp. as vs elsewhere.
Vs M is not too bad (you'd think I'd know that:rotfl:). It's alright compiling my own vs M shopping - main difficulty was the milk that now goes 89p vs £1 since they put up their price some time ago:( - I now have to spend more and go for £1.30 milk (that's technically better per pint anyway) which, itself, can't be put vs elsewhere than M without losing, well, not much to be fair. Then A are after higher value vouchers that I sometimes don't have:eek::rotfl::eek:. I lose 10% sometimes if I end up buying straight, but still not paying the real cash to elsewhere (such as Aldi/Lidl at £1.29). Vs M is alright, but I find vs T the easiest shopping to put together.0
