My problem was I was a middle child so I was always in the wrong whatever I did, and I got the blame for everything. That stays with you.
I have put my family behind me, my father is dead and due to various reasons I no longer feel any loyalty to my brothers, or even any need to contact them. There is nothing to hold me back and no reason to be less than positive.
If I can manage it then you can. Your sister's attitude is her problem, not yours.
I too was a middle child. I had a difficult marriage and the kids suffered. But OH and I now good friends he is 8 years sober this month and I have moved on. Kids are now happily married and 2 grandchildren due soon. I rarely speak to my eldest brother ( due to him taking most of my parents money) and have a fractious relationship with younger sister. Mum is always an issue between us all but I have finally decided to just do what I need to for her.
I have a nice little job, am getting on top of my finances and clearing my house up, have 2 lovely children and partners, enjoy my own company and love a bit of glitch or whoopsie shopping.0 -

Anyone else that wears glasses find other people just don't see them?
Yup, me  I had red ones time before these ones, no one noticed. These ones are purple with fancy design on the arms, no one noticed  It will be interesting to know if yours are noticed this timeThere's no place like home
Feeling down? Weak in body? Makes no difference to me, I think of you all when I'm sitting quietly.

Called in at A's this morning after the school run and was browsing the freezers - this is a store which has never yet advertised a meal deal. Saw many varieties of B&J icecream 500g £4 all flashed with red offer sels but no details. Asked the SA who was reloading nearby what the offer was - but although they tried, the offer was not coming up on their scanner. They said it was because offer had not 'come down here' yet, so I asked when and they said maybe later today, maybe tomorrow. So I remain mystified.“All shall be well, and all shall be well and all manner of thing shall be well.”0

To be honest, I still personally prefer other people not to notice mine. Probably stems from a childhood in which my specs were too highly visible and which prompted some unkind but very memorable name calling. I hated having to wear glasses for years.
How times change for the better. They are now a true accessory, even in the classroom, to the extent that DGD age 6 was in floods of tears after a routine checkup because her eyes are perfect and she doesn't need any.“All shall be well, and all shall be well and all manner of thing shall be well.”0 -
Thanks TS - fortunately the Architect has just been round & discussed it all with the builder so he is doing the sourcing :T
Spent time in yard this morningdirecting ballast lorry, cement lorry & Topps tiles into yard whilst partaking of a roll up or two
:o:o
Dad now sat in front of his MAC - and is deep in thought, he isn't the same man, he is very muddled head wise, can't turn it on - I'm not saying anything just letting him do it in his own time.
Ask him where the key is hidden for gate & he can instantly answerOur Family Motto ~If all else fails - read the instructions...

Morning all, cold and crispy outside
Yesterday was our surprise day out with eldest child and BF
So we got the earliest London train that we could get, no quite realising that there was a match on or the consequences
OH had tried to book seats but couldn't.
The engineering works out of Manchester were ongoing so every train was half an hour late. The first train was rammed full. The 2nd train was re plat formed and rammed full but after being out in the cold for so long I insisted we got on.
So for over 2 hours we sat in the corridor, jammed into a corner, sat on the floor, gloves on, beanie hat on but at least I had my book.
But at least we got there and they met us at Euston with reviving coffee. We then got various tubes south of the river.
And we had a lovely day at Kew Gardens :j
I have no idea how eldest child even realised that it's always been on my most wanted to visit list
OH took thousands of pics, we had a lovely walk round with an ad hoc picnic. And we saw 3 of the ring tailed paraqueets
Then on the way back we stopped at South Kensington and went to a French restaurant which was lovely
And then made our way back to Euston and the train home
Sounds like a lovely day but tiring,0 -
