with my contactless card I don't even remove it from my phone case in mcd's I just wipe my phone over it - sometimes I'm not even over the numberpad thing and it beeps as paid!! I also said to my oh that it seems scarily easy for fraud - now I know it is!!

Used to be most decent banks will give you the option of a non-contactless card (although I had no luck with FDirect who declared to me proudly they are a contactless bank); failing that, if you're brave you can disable contactless http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-Disable-Contactless-Payment-on-Your-Debit-C/ Do so at your own risk!!

  • I have a contactless card but I refuse to use it as such, then at least if someone tries it on with it I can honestly say I have never used it that way.

Does the statement say contactless when used that way?

it shows on my hsbc statement the 2 different type of transactions.

No, all stores so far as I am aware, it comes off at the till - a few stores show "Offer" on the SEL but most don't and it still works.

    Website shows it too.

before anyone goes into spasms re twitter - on the Elite we are constantly reporting glitches, freebies, offers, coupons, bargains on an hourly basis.

this person maybe does a few tweets per month and has 37 followers - so why is anyone getting upset?

Twitter is the equivalent of standing in the market place and shouting out and seeing if anyone sees and hears you. if you want privacy then you set up a private FB group and get people to apply to join.

I don't think anyone is upset, but if anyone WERE upset it would be best for the thread if they voiced their upset over on twitter

    In my opinion at least
