If you are referring to what I said that FC continuing to respond to nerfy's snidy remarks is childish.I'll stick by that.
For anybody else responding I will say that you are giving him the ammunition to continue and make out he is the good guy.
Ignore is best.You won't miss anything .He doesn't contribute anything worthwhile.0 -

I didnt respond the other day as I was not looking to cause any trouble and no that was not aimed at you or anyone in particular
But seen as you have brought it up again "that FC continuing to respond to nerfy's snidy remarks is childish" that is my point exactly
I am not trying to make out I am the good guy at all and yes I dont contribute anything worthwhile to the thread as hardly post now
But seems you have proved my pointWhen The Fun Stops Stop0 -

thursday at earliest i fear
A slim chance I think, if the price collectors were at M early in the day and if they had half (or more) of their 6 stores showing £1.96 SEL. Later in the day, I think it is more likely to be altered on the shelf, increasing the likelihood of having £4 instead of £1.96, or have no SEL showing thus being an N/A among probably more £4 stores at that later time of day.
The hotdeals link is more or less my own experience - different stores showing different prices - people having £4 on the SEL but the products going through, early on, at £1.96, others having £1.96 on the shelf but scanning at £4 (they should be held to the SEL in that case IMO), other people with £6.97 on the main aisle but £4 on the aisle end and the products going through at £1.96.
For the APG, it depends which stores they checked and what time of day they did so. And, since there are different flavours, it's possible that some may get one price and others another price. It depends what is on the specific SELs - so, you could have a store that does an incomplete job, shows £1.96 only on one version and £4 on the others. If that was a price collection store, then the one version gets £1.96 from that store and the others get £4. But... this is then combined with the information from the five other stores. Which could mean that £4 (or even £6.97 or £8, whatever is displayed elsewhere) trumps that £1.96 if there are more stores with £4. Then the other stores on the product that showed "£4" in the first store could all have £1.96 in which case they would get £1.96. Bear in mind too that, even if they got £1.96 from more stores, this should flag up that the price has dropped so drastically as to cause them to do a further check. However, this might be done from the information from the other stores.
"14.2.3. If more than one price for a product is found in the representative stores sampled, we will use the most commonly occurring price; if there is no common price, we will use the lowest price found."
It is possible that TBG may have different information, from its stores, to the APG and TBG could work on one that fails on the APG and vice versa, or that none could work on either or one works on both but not another flavour. I don't know why I think this may stand a better slim chance on TBG than the APG. Maybe because there seems a general consensus developing of £4 from the hotdeals SELs. Such that, take 6 stores (APG), and it's likely that more will have £4, if they have a price at all showing, thus £4 being the most common price. However, with TBG, take just 3 stores, you happen to find two (early on) that both have £1.96 SEL and the other has no price marked at all since they took the SEL away when they got the HO email and hadn't put the SEL to £4 before the price collectors got there. It might get £1.96. However, it's a slim chance on both TBG and APG, I don't think it will work on either of them and the chance may be slimmer on the APG (but, then again, maybe not).
There's a different rule:
"Where prices are found to be different, we use the most commonly occurring price. In the event that all the available prices for Morrisons are different, no fair price can be used for a Tesco Brand Guarantee comparison, and therefore the product will be marked N/A."
So, they get £1.96 from one store, £4 from another, the third removed its SEL and is N/A. The prices are different, there is no common price, it is marked N/A. They get £1.96 from two stores and the third is £4. The most commonly occurring is £1.96 so it returns £1.96. They get £1.96 from one store but the second one had changed its SEL to £4 just before the price collectors got there and the third store has £4. It returns £4.There have been complaints on Morries FB page that stores aren't honouring the price. If the price collectors have the same experience then it might never get picked up on APG
I don't think the price collectors would have any experience with staff not honouring displayed prices. Price collectors operate with permission in some stores, but covertly in others. If they are covert, they would not blow their cover by going to staff to get prices honoured. They go from the SELs. So, if the SEL says £1.96, that information goes into the APG from that store regardless of whether it scans at the till at £4 or any other price and regardless of whether, if it does so, the staff honour the shelf price or not. However, it requires at least the same number of stores to show another price and not more stores showing another price, because, if more stores show a higher price than £1.96, then they get that higher price. They need to have either most of their stores found showing £1.96 on the specific product - so different flavours could be found with different prices and have a different experience - or to have at least equal numbers of their stores showing £1.96 on the flavour as showing other prices on the flavour (then taking the lowest price where there is no common price). So, 3 at £1.96, 3 at £4, it gets £1.96. 2 at £1.96 and 4 at £4, it gets £4. 3 at £1.96, 2 at £4 and 1 at £6.97, it gets £1.96:D. 2 at £1.96, 3 at £4, one no price (so N/A), it's £4. 2 at £1.96, 1 at £4, 1 at £6.97 and two N/A (no SEL at all) it's £1.96. 1 at £1.96, 2 at £4, 1 at £6.97, 2 N/A, it's £4. 2 at £1.96, 2 at £4, 1 at £6.97 and 1 N/A, it's £1.96 (no common price, so lowest price taken) and, maybe, 2 at £1.96, 1 at £4, 2 at £6.97, 1 N/A - despite the 2 at £6.97, it is £1.96 as there is no common price, so the lowest one is taken.
I can't say there is no chance at all. However, I think is it highly unlikely indeed that any of the price schemes will pick up £1.96 on any of these Ariels. I think it is as likely as the APG picking up the Cornetto Chocolate 5 pack at £1 or the Nestle Toffee Sticks at 95p. Both of which for me I found in a single (different) store out of over 60. I think the JF Luminous Volume Blow Out Spray stands much more chance of picking up £2 than any Ariel 888 gel picking up £1.96.0
