'This is Buddy , I bought him as a surprise present for my husband but it turns out he's allergic to dogs . So unfortunately I'm going to have to find a new home for him , and I'm just wondering if anyone out there can help ? . His name is Alan, he’s 61, great at DIY, drives a nice car and plans wonderful holidays.

    We don't ???

Sorry Savvy, but I know how you're a stickler for these things :p

No, I don't, not always - and sometimes I don't even think about the date on the receipt either!!:o:rotfl::rotfl:

I see it - then I check the receipt and then don't think of it more.

So I do initially notice it but it's then forgotten.

It doesn't quite work in the way you may think (or doesn't always). Sometimes - and the executive functioning problem comes back in - I don't get time to check, or consider, absolutely everything - so I just press ahead, trying to get done quickly, and, unless I actively think about something - and I suspect I have to give active thought to a lot of things, in advance, than do most people - then I won't have noticed. Obviously, I did notice the receipt when I first saw it, before entering it. But then I did so and was then noticing the comparison and had no longer then been remembering the date of the receipt.

So, it's not a question of not noticing things. I did - and I've noticed it now (thanks to a redirection from Sal!). It's that I was dealing with the task of looking at the comparison (and bearing in mind my focus on individual tasks, and the executive thing and not multitasking - I can multitask, to some extent, but it's not ideal!).

I have an excellent rote memory. But long term and short term memory still operate in much the same way as anyone else.

You do. I just like to throw in a bit of duff information just to test you all - just to see if people are noticing/paying attention etc.:rotfl:
