My views were slightly different and I think 3 are a good number, and for them to do extra curriculum and to have a life as well is more balanced view.
I agree SSM, I think everything extra curriculum DD2 did stood her in good stead.
She went to a state school and for the more academic they started off with 5 AS levels, this gave them a chance to see which they performed better at and which they enjoyed more to take on to A2 level. I think most of them were encouraged to carry on with just 3 to A2 and a few carried on with 4. DD2 started off with 4 subjects at A2 but once she knew exactly what she needed for her university offers she could see no need to do more than the 3 needed with all five AS results already under her belt.0 -
So, I am back. (Been back for ages:rotfl:.) On another topic, do you know what - I think this "price crunched" M is probably, overall, a more expensive M than what it was before. I don't have any facts, figures or price information to back any of that up, it's just a feeling I have. And feelings, and impressions, matter.
I suspect that the general shopper, that doesn't study or remember prices like I do, has the impression that the store is cheaper. Probably a wrong impression:rotfl: - but that's maybe just because it's contrary to my own - but, again, impressions matter and they'll probably feel it is cheaper than before.
I do feel it's more expensive - and I wonder if all the other supermarkets, including A, are up to exactly the same thing! Were those Guinness World Records books, on RTC earlier in A, 2015 or 2016? I seem vaguely to remember something where they were going through at rather cheap price. I wondering because I've seen an advertisement on a bus shelter that I happened to walk past in the town centre earlier, where our family has been tonight, and A advertising the Guinness World Records 2016 with £4 and £10 prices in the advertisement. Are they more expensive now they're being advertised?
I think the key is to avoid buying stuff when it's being advertised and to buy it beforehand, when it's not, and is probably cheaper. I'm sure I've seen things at quite cheap prices and then whoever is selling them puts the prices up and advertises the products on TV, with those prices, and people generally then start buying them and thinking they are good prices! Then, after the promotion is over, the products go back to cheaper:rotfl::rotfl:.
I think, definitely, avoid something when it is being advertised and buy whenever people generally are not buying it and I'm sure that's a much better way:money:!0 -
