Is your cat a mouser? Our vet said that the worms are in the intestines of the prey animals so they re infect themselves if they eat what they catch. And inevitable they usually do eat what they catch.
Mostly Sophie brings her catches home and we remove them from her but we worm her as soon as hunting weather starts again.
With Ronnie as he is so black if you see a tiny white thread at the read end its a worm :( I am not sure if he does much hunting himself but he will take Sophie's little friends
Same with Treacle although he is more brown black and too idle to hunt or even leave the house in the winter.
I buy worming tablets online - you are supposed to worm every 3 months but I think the gap is longer in the winter when no one is going out and maybe every 2 months in the summer.

He catches mice and birds mhoc. He's always been a proper outdoor cat. He's had roundworms before but the vet mentioned tapeworms which can be metres long:eek:

Aww, poor Oz. Hope he's soon feeling better. Last time Jas's worming tablet was due we couldn't get her to take it and gave up in the end. She too is a hunter, so will take your warning to heart and make sure she gets one.
Bubbs, glad your ordeal is over and at least you know now what the problem is. And well done you, there's no way on this earth I could have that done while I was conscious.
tweets, hope mum is comfortable and makes a good recovery.

Crush up the tablet and mix it up with about a teaspoon of her wet food.

Very strange, as coke zero was working earlier,
The citrus zest didn't work as the zero came back n/a, so T. offer of 2 for £2 didn't kick in.:(

It's this random haphazard thing, where things go on and off websites:( - T are beggars for this, forever removing stuff from t.com, or putting it up to full price for an afternoon (even though it appears to continue on offer in store) merely it seems to continue the offer for another week the next day. There's two updates, approx. 6am and approx. early afternoon and, if it isn't on the website at the exact moment it is 'scanned', it returns N/A.:( I think.
