Sorry NewGirly
I do love my dinners!
Maybe I should start tracking my weight too and see if that helps me lose the excess 6kg I gained the last year & a half. Tracking seems to be working well for the OPsFirst home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).

Hair is all done and glammed up; I've gone from boob-length hair with a light auburn dye on the ends to a shoulder length layered cut with fringe with black roots and bright red everywhere else. I love it :blushing:
In total it cost me £33, as I got a 25% off as a friend recommended me and I used the £50 gift voucher the girlfriend got me for valentines (she knew I'd never just do it on my own as it's a lot of money!)
But even more exciting than that is.....
WE BOUGHT KITTENS!!!!:j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j
we've been talking about kittens forever pretty much and decided we'll get two in April and we have the end of the month off to settle them in. I've been looking daily on gumtree as now is the time to reserve them and there was an ad yesterday morning for three males two tabby and one ginger- we want two and wanted those colourings (I love tabbies you see!) So we messaged the lady to go round today (Sunday) but she was having a lot of response to the ad so we went round straight after the haircut yesterday.
Result was £80 deposit paid for two 5 week old boy kittens :heartpuls: there is a really gingery one who was really playful and cuddly, and one white and tabby one who was a little more clingy with us and meowed a little (so cute!) they are not yet old enough to leave so we are going on 8th April when they'll be de wormed, de flead, weaned and using litter trays. The lady was lovely and we saw all her five cats (including mummy cat) so we're both ridiculously excited. We have named one kitten (ginger one)- Oscar- but we are still deciding on the white & tabby boy name
I am so excited and cannot wait until the 8th! I shall be working from home lots that week so I'm not far away.....:j
Played with the figures in my accounting app to ensure we have the funds- I had set aside £150 this month to pay to have the patio door glass changed and cat flap installed, but we won't need that until May so I'll take that out of next months wages instead.
I cannot begin to express my excitement and happiness! It's such a wonderful feeling to have our own home that's secure and be having our own little kitties
In MSE news I've had a yougov survey and we went to gf's cousins for dinner last night as other cousins were visiting so no spends on groceries! :PFirst home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).

Checking accounting app and due to pay £89.81 tomorrow on mortgage day so I've just sent that across now and got it done.
Takes March total to
£263.33
Which now totals £638.15. of £2150 target for this year. 29.6% which is just ahead of where we need to be for the end of the first quarterFirst home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).

How exciting! I remembered how excited I was when we brought our kitten home (now a big 7 year old boy!). I love cats, especially kittens. Maybe you could post a pic on here when they arrive? One MSE tip I have, when you give them their first vaccines and boosters, if you do it at Pets at Home you can do their Vac for Life programme that costs £99 (per pet) and covers all boosters for life. Considering they normally cost around £30 per booster you make your money back pretty quickly. The only think to be conscious of is that you need to book your appointment around the same time every year. My colleague was telling me that she left it and booked her appointment quite a while after the letter arrived and was told that because she had left it X amount of time after the booster was due, she had violated the terms of the policy and was no longer eligible for the free Vac for Life programme. I haven't had a problem though as I have it done the same time every year so easy to avoid falling foul of it if you are aware
Another tip, not really MSE, when we moved house I rang the national pet register to change the address on the boy's microchip and didn't have a record of him. I was mortified that he'd been running around for 5 years with no ID as she runs towards cars, not away from them so is more likely to get him and need to be IDed. Turns out the vet hadn't sent the paperwork even though they said they would. I had the microchip number so was able to rectify it, but I would advise checking that they have your address details logged. One final tip (sorry, I'll stop soon) is to ask your vet for a flea recommendation. I spoke to mine who recommended an alternative brand that actually were working better than the big branded stuff and was cheaper. You can also get them injected if you think you'll forget to use the flea drops, which my friend who is a vet does, but our vet seemed to think it was mean putting something into their blood when drops work fine, so it's entirely up to you, just an alternative if you forget things easily

Sorry, I said I was going to stop, but I always check on a price comparison site before buying my cat food as it can save quite a bit in the long run. I also buy in bulk when there is a particularly good deal on.Mortgage: Mar 2018 -£300,000 / Jul 2021 -£255,000 / Oct 2024 -£172,835 (1.27% Interest until Feb 2027)

Kittens! Wahoo, Kittens!!! :j:j:j:j Did you know it's compulsory to share photos of newly homed kittens on the Internet? You didn't? Well I am telling it is!
You'll have SO much fun with them KK, but don't leave anything they shouldn't chew, anywhere they might one day reach! When we got ours we went out one day, leaving them in the house. There's a shelf by our back door, but at the time they couldn't get up there. We'd left some travel sickness pills (2, just in a small blister pack, no cardboard) that we intended to take to a relative on the shelf. When we came back later that evening, we were amused to see the kittens had managed to jump onto the shelf for the first time. We thought nothing more of it until the next day when I discovered a *very* chewed *empty* blister pack on the floor.:eek::eek: We knew which cat it would have been (eats anything in sight, including plastic, even now), so panicked call to the vets ensued. Fortunately the drug was licensed for use in cats in the States, but he'd eaten 17 times the dose he should have had. :eek:Anything could have happened, including liver failure, but we were incredibly lucky and there were no noticeable effects (although he's SO daft we do wonder about his brain sometimes!). So.... moral of the story is, never assume they can't get to something!! (Our cats also open various magnetised cupboard doors and the kitchen has a latch to stop them getting in...).
And... don't be precious about your curtains! And that doesn't stop when they're light enough not to do major damage to them - ours are big 3-year-old boys and still climb them occasionally!
oooh, kittens!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days
