It's because the laser changes the shape of the cornea.
Still, it works for a lot of people!
Hopefully gf is feeling a bit better?
Do you have a local library? I am horrible person and pick up travel guides from the library and return them after I've been on the trip. Then you can read loads!0 -
Nothing horrible about that Michelle - that's what they're there for! Surely they expect people to take travel guides away with them? I certainly do! They're expensive to buy for one trip and soon out of date (and, as you say, you can read more!). Our last holiday, I have to confess, the guide covered many more places than we were going, so I snapped pics on my phone of the relevant bits and took that with me - it saved on weight. As I wouldn't have bought the book anyway, as I'd got it from the library, I didn't feel too guilty about this.
I've just cashed out on PA, Kitten, but I need to focus more too - catching them is tricky.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Morning!
Michelle- the library is a great idea, I will go and have a nose at what they have when Im next in town and its open
NSD yesterday as worked from home and then went to class in the evening. Leek & potato soup was delicious and there are two portions now in the freezer too. A big bag of chopped leeks has also been added to the freezer as well as a bag of winter root veg that was going really bendy (ooops) so it is now all chopped ready for a soup/stew etc
Got a little bit impatient and OPd an extra £30 I had spare on Sunday evening ...on the slow procession to payday on Friday which Im eager to do for the money shuffle.
First rock climbing lesson went well on Monday although its pretty frightening- I climbed twice and both times got 1/3rd of the way up the massive wall (30metres I think they said), our friend rocketed right up to the top on his first go which gives me motivation to try again and try to quiet the fear of heights. Gf did really well too I was so impressed!
Gf has heard from our more local pool about individual swimming lessons from mid April so just waiting for her to confirm and we should be good to get our practice in on that front too!
Hair cut & colour today (£20 graduate stylist deal!) and then off to Birmingham to see a band with my bestie! Been looking forward to seeing Feeder for ages as they are one of the bands I used to always see every tour when younger. We did a climbing course a couple of years ago and I found I wasn't too keen. I didn't ever fall though, and I don't think that helped - if I'd learnt to trust the belayer, I think it might have been easier (less so once you get onto free climbing, but that's another matter!).Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

We have got two more sessions for the introduction so going tomorrow evening. Im hoping I get over my fear of heights though!
The gig last night was just great- the best gig Ive been to in a very long time- I danced around like a fool and they played some really old stuff that I adored hearing live (for any Feeder fans: Stereo World, Piece by Piece, cement, insomnia, yesterday went too soon etc!)
Pay day today so did the pay day money shuffle! Which means the monthly OP has been sent now of £162.45 (rounding up the mortgage payment on the 20th to £800) which brings us to £201.91 for the month. We may have a few tilly tidies but thats pretty much it
A few hectic days at work, but managed to pick up some crackers for free today from on checkoutsmart and some YS potato cakes which we made for dinner with some fried eggs- yum and a total cheat easy dinner!
Went to yoga this evening which was great- went in all tired and headachey and left all light and bouncy! Yoga at 7am so a nice early start tomorrow but but working from home so should set me up for the day.First home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).

Gig sounds like good fun - it's been so long since I went to one. Feeder would definitely have taken me back to those carefree sixth form days

Yes indeed- carefree sixth form and uni days
Been to early morning yoga today and yesterday so feeling all stretched and revived.
We had a bit of a scare yesterday with hugo- around 10.30am I picked him up like normal and he howled, full on howling and hissing which we have never seen him do. I popped him back down and petted him but he continued to growl. We assumed he was just unhappy about something but we would monitor him. By 4pm he had stayed sat outside on the grass not sitting down properly and growling, hissing and making guttural noises when you went near his back end or picked him up.
Called vets and got an emergency appt- he has a bit of swelling around the base of his tail so she thinks he got it stuck somewhere or has had it pulled
He then had a shot of painkillers, and we were told to bring him back this afternoon if he was no better. He was very lethargic last night and sleeping in odd positions as he couldnt get comfy, poor lamb, but this morning he is walking better and being a bit more his normal self. He still growls when picked up but a lot quieter growling, with no hissing and Hess got better movement/sitting position today.
The vet said if he was a bit improved today to wait until Monday and see if he is better, if hes not we will have to take him in. He was affectionate again this morning though so is obviously in less pain which is good.
We also found out he had a slight heart murmur- I dont know much about this so welled up a little at the vets but held back any tears. Reading up on it many cats have this and it doesnt necessarily hold them back/cause issues, although I appreciate the severity differs a lot. Something to keep an eye on and and discuss a bit more with the vets.
So, unexpected cat bill of £45 (so far) but we havent taken it out of the kitten fund as we have got enough wiggle in the budget not to miss it too much this month.
We have completed lots of chores this morning- bought some paint for our fences to do on a brighter warmer day (not today as we have light snow), took back a steam mop that was just awful and didnt clean at all, and picked up oils and bulbs for some car maintenance for our two cars.
Gfs swimming lessons are now booked for the more local pool for Sundays starting mid April & the lonely planet guide I got on eBay arrived on a Thursday so going to have a nice read this afternoon and do some more planning
We were planning to visit my brother tomorrow after yoga/gym but due to the predicted snow we are going to push it back to next weekend as we have the Friday and Monday off instead- looking forward to seeing him and seeing how his gf is now shes been home a fair few weeks.
33p tilly tidy made today, will continue with these for the remainder of the month so not big numbers but it will all help!First home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).

Struggling to sleep as think I am getting a cold so nose and throat are both playing up. Yuck!
Hugo is much better now- you would not know he has been injured last week to look at him. Best £45 spent in a long time!
He did however bring in a mouse whilst I was on a Work call yesterday- I managed to chase him and get the poor thing. It was still alive so I released it however went to check on it later and it was just shivering on the cobbles. I brought it in and made it a little tissue nest in a Tupperware to warm it and see if it would survive. An hour later it was moving lots so tried to re-release it but the poor thing just lay there looking half-dead so I decided to be brave and end the poor guys suffering. The not so lovely side of having cats hey!
OP of £4.96 yesterday as a Tilly Tidy of the joint account and I did a bit of grocery shopping- gf is away the start of the week and Im away mid-week so not as many meals to cover this week. Got some deodorant, mango & spinach in life (£2.08), then some low cal ice cream (whoops), new surf detergent (will get £2 cashback from Shopmium), stock cubes, milk and veg for £10.65. So under £13 for the week and got bits that will cover various weeks.
I was pretty impressed with the veg- tesco are doing a 3 for £1 deal so grabbed carrots, onions & brocolli. The brocolli was heads of 350g but I spotted a pack with two smaller heads which looked bigger. I took it over to their scales and the two head pack was 550g- can you guess which I grabbed! I eat the stalks or use in soups so got our moneys worth!
Went to the gym (5km run and 20 minute stepper) then my yoga class so felt good! Sunday did a home workout due to snow so 1hr on our cross trainer followed by press-ups, hanging leg raises and some sit-ups. My abs kill today I must admit!!
Ive been doing the teeth whitening solution but skipped last nightas was feeling dreadful with sore throat and scratchy irritable nose. Will take some meds today and get back on the whitening tonight. Last dental appointment is on Monday for the whitening so not long to go now
Shopmium cashback requested for the surf- annoyingly they only had the liquid not the powder so will go and see if the Tesco!!!8217;s by class tonight has the powder. Will also get it again later in the week if I can, and gf will claim that back so we can double up on the dealFirst home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).
