E.On Community Heat and Dual Fuel Discounts

I received a letter from E.On District Heat yesterday saying that as a result of new Ofgem rules, they won't be able to give me a dual fuel discount anymore.

This feels a bit fishy to me, and potentially just a way to stealth-increase my bill every month. Given I have no option but to have my "heat" supply by E.On - it's a complete monopoly because they run the boilers that pump the hot water to my flat - it seems weird that they'd have been told they can't offer discounts for me also having electricity through them?

Does anyone know what rules they're taking about here?

I'm so sorry that we can't really help with these accounts at all HEAT is a different part of the business and managed slightly differently.

If you do need to discuss the details of the letter, I'd have to suggest giving the HEAT guys a ring.

We can't actually even access the accounts here, so I'm sorry I can't help you.
