HSBC What a CON !!!!

I transferred money to my new HSBC credit card with a promo offer of 6 months 0%. I opned the account in April, but no money was transferred by HSBC till beginning of June when i made my first payment. They are now saying that the first 2 months before they transferred the money was part of the 6 months promo - in effect I have only 4 months 0% interest on this card!!
I need to change again - any ideas anyone? What is the best route to follow or card to get?

Thanks

Veronica

How is it a con?! You were offered 6 months 0% which is what you got, if you didnt use it for 2 months then thats hardly HSBC's fault!
  • the best offers are between 12-15 months check a credit card comparitor.

IIRC the RBS syndicate (RBS, ulster, natwest) is the best offering at the moment

It's not a con that's how they all work, you get 6 months(or whatever the deal is) from the date you open the card.

Better to understand how these things work rather than use factually incorrect sweeping statements claiming you've been conned when you clearly haven't.

OR are you saying HSBC took 2 months to action a BT request ?

Yes I am saying that it was a few weeks before they transferred the money from another account- I opened the account in April, and the first payment was June.
I do think and expected that there should be 6 payments then revert to the normal interest rate.
I have now changed my card to Nat West.

But what was the exact date you requested the transfer ?
And the exact date it was transferred to your account.
