Security issues- doors

I have a basic wooden back door with single pane glass.
Do I need permission to install a double glazed door?
Any advice on where to purchase a new one?
Would it be cheaper to buy one and have someone fit it or use d/g company?
Front door is not secure enough for my liking, I think it's UPVC, can extra bolts, chains etc be fitted?
Can I change the glass in front door?

Assuming the property is yours and isn't rented then you don't need permission to fit a double glazed door.
You may well need a FENSA certificate.

You can buy doors at any of your local DIY sheds but its worth getting quotes from a small local firm especially if you can get a recommendation.

Extra bolts can always be added to UPVC, Aluminum or Wooden Doors on the inside. You just need to be a bit careful where you locate them.
