We built Cheap Energy Club to constantly monitor your energy tariff. Energy suppliers constantly launch new tariffs, plus prices can rise and fall so it isn’t unusual for you to receive a savings alert email a few months after switching.

How often you switch depends on what kind of a MoneySaver you are. Some people like the thrill of knowing they’re always on the very cheapest tariff, others are content to know they’re not hugely overpaying. If you want to receive fewer alerts, consider setting your trigger figure higher. To do this, simply login to your Energy Club Account and go to the monitoring information section.
Yes, fine but everyone switching every 6 weeks & getting presumably another £30 surely must eventually put up costs for everyone, I dont mind, say 3 times a year but very 6 weeks seems excessive.
  • When I get a comparison, the site is telling me this: Your current tariffs have exit fees of up to £60. You'll need to factor this in against the saving if you're going to leave early. However, if you have less than 50 days to go on your fix - you shouldn't be charged any penalties for leaving. But when I look at the BG offer, it also says this: It's also open to existing British Gas and Sainsbury's Energy customers - you won't have to pay exit fees on your current BG/SE tariff and you'll still get the £30 cashback.. I have way more than 50 days to go with my SE tariff, so which is it to be? Do I have to factor in some switch costs or are they being waived because being with Sainsbury's Energy already, this is effectively a switch within British Gas?

Early exit fees will apply if you switch supplier.

But BG have already said if you are a current BG or Sainsburys customer, you can transfer to the the MSE/BG Big Switch 4 tariff and they will not apply early exit fees.
  • I have switched and been informed it should be completed on 22nd Feb. I have given BG a DD date of 20th of the month. When will my first payment be, Feb or March ?
