Cancelling a dd for a phone contract

Absolutely Fed up now of vodafone , cancelled the contract in september took a bill october - fine last bill or so i thought, november took a bill i thought ok il ring they said hadnt been cancelled, decemeber and jan more bills. , rang twice in jan and told a problem cancelling, will refund the £100 they owed, still waiting for it to be cancelled and for my money back, fed up! What next, tweeting them to, i dont want to cancel direct debit as it may effect my credit or will it not

    Cancelling the direct debit will not cancel the contract; and as you correctly point out it will cause all sorts of issues for you as you'd be in breach of your contract.

    Deal with this as a complaint as if you have cancelled on multiple occasions Vodafone are for some reason ignoring your request, as I'm assuming your out of contract.
    As part of the the complaint for Vodafone failing to cancel I would be inclined to request copies of the telephone recordings as these can be useful if needing to take it to the relevant ombudsman. Stress you want them to deal with the request as a complaint.
    Outcome should be Vodafone cancel from date of first request and refund any monies taken bar possible calls/data you've made/used.

    My contract is over though it was nearly a year ago it should be that easy but they dont listen
