Direct Debuts on Account which was switched

Hi,

So, I set up an account switch from nationwide to Yorkshire, and messed up the DD's and cancelled them by mistake halfway through the switch, I then set them back up on the nationwide account but because the direct debits had already been told to the new bank, the account was closed without moving them so now I'm thinking, what will happen my the direct debits are tried to be claimed from an account which is closed?

Contact the companies and make sure they have the new account details for the DD. I don't think that you have many to contact.

It's a different question whether you'll get the switching bonus.

So, contrary to what you thought on Tuesday, in fact the DDs were not switched? If you've already initiated a DD pull, then the DDs may be redirected to the new account, but you can easily set up new ones. Let's hope all this activity doesn't draw any attention to you from the supermarket in question.
