Quantum storage heaters and EPCs
Dimplex's most advanced storage heaters, the Quantum range (released only a couple of years back) are supposed to qualify for a category of energy efficiency above that of basic fan-assisted storage heaters called 'High Heat Retention Storage Heaters' - at least that's what it says here (see page 7): http://www.quantumelectrical.co.uk/quantumbrochure.pdf
I have them in my house and want to get a new EPC done to reflect them and a couple of other energy-saving measures that have been implemented in the property (cavity wall insulation and triple glazing).
However, the EPC assessor I've spoken to says that the highest category the SAP software will allow him to enter is the 'Fan-Assisted Storage Heater' one. This is despite the fact that the 'High Heat Retention Storage Heater' category has existed in SAP2012 since Spring 2014, and the responsiveness of them is proven to be higher than fan-assisted ones (0.8 instead of 0.6 - see page 8 here: https://www.ofgem.gov.uk/sites/default/files/docs/2015/03/eco2_esh_checklist-final.pdf)
Does anyone know if this is correct, or should I check with other assessors? Thanks.

"Ask the particular EPC assessor you have spoken to - what revision software s/he's using [SAP2012] 'High heat retention storage heaters ' are clearly listed. The older software may not calc the near zero maintenance costs of Quantum / year into account.Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion.
