new desktop needed

Hi. im not very techie minded i have a acer desktop which i have had since 2009 installed with vista. i am now getting info stating no longer getting upgrades after april 16 i dont know whats best option if i have to purchase new p.c or what /how to upgrade as i have no idea how to do this if i purchase new p.c whats best pc to buy any help would be appreciated.

    What do the updates say, exactly? I've heard that Google Chrome will soon stop providing updates for Vista users, but you can just use a different web browser (such as Firefox).

    Vista itself is in extended support (i.e. Microsoft won't be implementing any new features, but will continue to produce security fixes) until 11 April 2017, so that means you should be fine for another 14 months. Maybe you could get someone to install Windows 10 for you then, or look at getting a new laptop?
