Debt Management Plan

Hey,
Have you been to the CCCS Website and filled in their online Debt Remedy form?
I would do that, then look at the options they give you.
You can apply online if they suggest a DMP and the agreement will be sent out pretty quickly.. I got mine 3 days after I filled in the online form. Your DMP could start next month.0 -
Cann,t do it online as i,m self employed . I,ve agreed reduced payments to two of the companys and about to start with the third . But as my work is seasonal , i,m not sure ai meet even these payments . I, m hoping to recieve a lump sum next year , hearing loss claim , and will offer 45% payment . cheers for your input0

Agreed.
I did this and I start my DMP in October with CCCS. They even suggested that I could request a Sept start and they would do their best but I wouldn't have had the first payment for them in Sept so happy with the october start.0 -
I wrote to my main creditor asking for a copy of the credit agreement , only recieved a warning letter ,saying the next step was court .This after agreement to a monthly payment. I presume they would need to show the court a signed consumer credit agreement ? In the letter they say they have found out i am employed . I am infact selfemployed , having a part time job cleaning.0

Try your local Council to see if they have any debt advisors.Find out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)0

Hi Stapeley,
From what I have learned on here, the company you owe money to have to prove that you do, and they have a legal obligation to send you the information you asked for otherwise they are breaking the law.
There are lots of templates of the letters you need to send, I think they have to be pretty exact and you have to send a £1 postal order and send things registered post.
I don't know a huge amount about this but there are plenty on here who do.

I am with a dmp company, I only started it last month and already all my 8 creditors have frozen interest and charges, I have only received 3 phone calls from creditors and all letters I have had from them have been polite and accepting of my situation, It is a fee paying company but at a very small rate, they have been fantastic , they told creditors not to ring me as the worry was making me ill and I hadnt at the time told my oh ( i have now) the creditors have gone along with their request. the company moved very fast and there was no delay or waiting, they sent off my files to the companys in question and got replys back within a week.It has all gone so smooth so far.I know people on here always say dont pay for a dmp company but for me it was the BEST option ,hassle free, they also offer support throughout and do care about therir clients, it cost £99 to set up ( deducted from 1st mnths payment) and a set fee of £35 mnth. Well worth it in my opinion as I could not wait around and was not strong enough to handle it myself. They are an absolute pleasure to talk to,never put me down and they email me from time to time to see how I am doing.
I think its best to let people make up their own minds on who to turn to in a debt crisis, I am glad I have the support from my company, they did not pressure me in any way and even told me to take a week or so to make a decision on starting the dmp. I know the free ones are great ( I aint knocking them ) but there are some brill fee paying ones also. love xxxxxxxx:T0 -

I would personally recommend payplan. I spoke with them some months ago about a DMP and they recommended that I first move my bank account away from any of my creditors. They always ring back at the agreed time and are very helpful. They will give you a reference number and you can come back to them months later to pick up again.0
