Can anyone advise, it states i would be saving around £244 a year when in real fact i think it may be slightly more.
In the description on the cheap energy club it states:
It's only available for dual fuel switches, which means you'll get £30 cashback. It's also open to existing British Gas and Sainsbury's Energy customers - you won't have to pay exit fees on your current BG/SE tariff and you'll still get the £30 cashback.
I am currently on the march fix and reward 2016 ( i know i am out of the 50 day window still) but british gas would not let me switch over for free even though they are my current supplier even though it states this?
Also they stated if I am in the 50 day window i would still have to pay a charge? of £30. I put the phone down to them and completed the collective feb 2017 information and applied to switch through that way as nothing was mentioned about fee's again, so hopefully i can dodge that one. Surely british gas wont charge me a fee for staying with them!?
can anyone advise?
cheers in advance

British Gas can't offer this tariff by telephone - its only available online via the CEC.
If you are an existing BG customer, you won't be charged any penalties for moving to the tariff - even if you are outside the 50 day window0 -
As above, and from this weeks email
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/latesttip/Existing BG & Sainsbury's Energy custs can switch to it with no exit fee regardless of their tariff, and you get the £30 cashback.
Apply online using the CEC (assuming you have pre-registered or are were registered to receive the MSE email)0 -
Can I just jump on here to ask how accurate the prices stated for the BG tariff is? Reason I ask is because i looked on the British Gas website and the costs are CONSIDERABLY higher!
And sorry to be odd but is it safe to enter bank details on this site if I switch.
Sorry if I offend anyone and thanks if anyone answers.0 -
Hi MrsH78
British Gas aren't allowed to show this tariff on its website, so it sounds like you must have been comparing this with a different option.
In terms of price accuracy, Cheap Energy Club uses the information you've entered on your account to work out how much each tariff on the market will cost you (assuming that your usage remains unchanged). The best way to get an accurate comparison is to enter your annual usage figures (in kWh). Assuming you have done so, the annual costs shown to you will be accurate.
The application form to switch is fully secured. There is information on that page (right hand side next to where you enter your bank details) providing you with more detail around how this works.
Hope that helps to reassure you.0 -
@MrsH78
I have switched energy suppliers many times using the Cheap Energy Club and nothing bad has happened to my bank account details in all that time. So I (as a customer) have had no issues with my bank details once entered into their site.
As Dan L (a staff member) states the Collective details cannot, by order of the regulator (OFGEM), be shown anywhere else than the website of the company organising the switch (the Cheap Energy Club). And you can only apply for a collective tariff through the organising company not the supplier (again by order of the regulator)0 -
Hi bit new to this switching stuff.....this is my first time switch.
What's this 50 day window you refer to...and how is the 30 pounds paid
That's for help0 -
Most tariffs have exit fees to discourage you from changing too often . However, if you're within 50 days of the end of your tariff these exit fees no longer apply.
Sorry, not sure how the cashback is paid. Probably credited to the account you pay your bill with?
Cheers PJ0 -
Cashback is paid within 3 months to the bank account which you enter into the website when you select a supplier and tariff to switch to.0

I now can't find the British Gas Collective Feb.2017 deal. Has it been exhausted? When I first searched yesterday it said I could save over £300, but it now appears to have dropped off the search list.
Could anyone help with a direct link to the offer?0 -
Cheap Energy Club
Log in , click "get up to date comparison", then check "Dual Fuel" is selected in the Fuel Type.
