OFFICIAL driving apps

Hi All,

Have been searching the internet for an/the "Official" driving test/theory/etc apps for tablets and mobile phones without success. Is there an official app or set of apps from DVLA or can anyone recommend the closest to an official app or app set?

Thanks

Peter

    Something like this ? https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/official-dvsa-theory-test/id463295925?mt=8

    Or this : https://www.bsm.co.uk/existing-pupils-hub/theory-test-apps

Or try this for free ( Ok, it's not an app, but it's "straight from the horses mouth" so to speak ) : https://www.gov.uk/practise-your-driving-theory-test

    Thanks, Ebe Scrooge,

Perfect, just what I was looking for. I did find the first link (itunes) but asked myself how official is it? Do they just copy from the official hwc book/manual or did they need permission from DVLA/GOV? I would imagine so, otherwise a lot of dodgy apps will be out there I assume?

I must admit I can't vouch for the authenticity of the iTunes version - though I can't image they've anything to gain by making it "dodgy". I would have thought the BSM version could be trusted - as one of the largest driving schools around I would imagine they value their reputation ! And obviously the link from the official government site ought to be OK :)

Just out of interest, I just did the practice test on that government website myself. 50/50, and it's 32 years since I passed my test. It all seems to be nothing more than common sense. There were a couple of questions that you'd need to have read the highway code to know ( e.g. if you're towing a trailer, what's your speed limit on a motorway ), but most of them were along the lines of "You're behind a cyclist at traffic lights - should you (a) sound your horn and accelerate hard past him, or (b) stay well back and give him plenty of room. It's not exactly rocket science !

Why would you need this info when you have a Hungarian Driving Licence?

As an EU Licence holder why do you want to sit another test?

Who said he wants to take another test?

Maybe he just want to brush up on UK driving rules, no bad thing (having not driven over here before), or asking for someone else.

Maybe a clue in this thread, though not sure why they would want to take another test.;)

Again, that's just an assumption the the OP wants to take another test himself, he could easily be asking on behalf of someone else.

And, as stated by another poster, good on him if he does want to take a test to ensure he meets UK driving standards.

(I don't know how stringent the Hungarian test is or how it compares to the UK one)

And should he fail? He'll keep driving no doubt.

Maybe, maybe not. I don't know. I also don't know why he is asking these questions, whether for himself or A.N. Other.

I was just questioning why people were questioning him asking these questions. :p
