Using car air con, good for the car, or money down the drain?

That's weird - as you say it might well be a Mk5 Golf thing.
I had a Toledo in 99 and I noticed the car would steam up on cold mornings.
It was my first car with AC, well my 405 had it but it was broken, that Toledo was the only car I have ever owned when the AC wouldn't work first thing in the morning, I assume all AC systems will have a temperature below which they won't work but the Toledo was the only one that was routinely a pain in the Harris.
I am sure somebody will come along that knows the temperature concerned and if it varies from car to car. I just took it to the dealer who reported no fault0
