Getting quotes for heating and plumber says that….
Vaillant and Glowworm are owned by the same company. and the combi boilers more or less use the same parts but Glowworm are cheaper
Is this correct?
He suggested the Glowworm 30 CXi but I am thinking of asking him for a quote for the Glowworm 38 CXi to have that bit better flow rate as we are wanting a mixershower.
It is going to be install in the loft and said it will need a overflow pipe putting out of the roof. He Said they just lift a roof tile and point in-between the gap and then silicon all around it.
Is this the correct / best method for the overflow.

Vaillant did indeed buy Glow worm around 2000.
Cant recall if glow worm were part of Hepworth or
Bongioanni Pensotti Kalore but both were acquired by Vaillant at around that time.
Whether they use the same components is questionable.
I suspect they will do so in the future as they rationalise the product ranges but i doubt all models use the same components at the moment.0
