Was hoping to get at least the 3 for £2 offer ones which would work out just over £1300 -
We've routinely sent two MPVs of leaders & parents (each clutching their "egg allowance") to mop up promotional stock where the management has elected not to cooperate with Scouts.
It can work out even cheaper if you make it a bit competitive between stores & cars/teams but that was for school. (If you get managers who "can only allow you X units", accept & ask if they can add something else as a freebie for a raffle. The Easter Hamper was Impressive that year!)
All the best of luck & if you can get "spare eggs" in case of breakages, so much the better. Plus there *are* children who Do Not Like chocolate (!) - we found persimmon/sharon fruit were quite acceptable instead but you have to have one to offer a trial bite from.0 -
great ideas - as we are supplying eggs and running event free for kids want to make the kitty go as far as possible ! Will maybe email Tesco first when the first egg offers appear and see what they come up with .Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

Could you ask a local company to donate the eggs?
I work for a large company (sadly not in Northern Ireland) and every year we all donate at least one egg each and they go to local charities to give out to the kids.0 -
There's a new & interesting spin on egg donation!
I must try that on my Scout leaders...0 -
4fm4espise- thank you for kind comments
pm2326 - from a smallish village with loads of outlying housing areas - local businesses small and really good to us but 200 eggs but too much to ask
DigforVictory - I so want to go as a large group and buy all the eggs that way !! - the older kids would love it
Seems local cash carrys and shops cant buy in any cheaper than if supermarkets do the 3 for £2 offer which they do much years.0 -
Rather than emailing Tesco go to the local store and explian what your wanting and rather than you clearing the shelves ask if more could be ordered in. The worst he says is no.0

We do posters etc and invites to local schools. Lots of mums/dads etc want to give us money on the day but we leave a bucket and donate any ££ to childrens cancer charity .0 -
Have you thought about contacting manufacturers direct (Cadburys, Nestle etc) to see if they could help? Could be worth a punt since it would only take an email.0
