First Direct - switching incentive

Options
hi all

just wanted to report back on some excellent customer service from FD :D

I applied back in November when the switching incentive was £150, but as I didn't want to close my old account I told them that I wanted to move across my DDs and SOs myself. When I didn't receive the £150 I queried it, and was initially told that I wasn't eligible for the incentive because I hadn't used the switching service. So I wrote back, and said I was disappointed at their decision, and left it at that. Today, I've had a phone call, and they are crediting me with that £150! :T:T:T They've reviewed my account, can see I'm using it with DDs and SOs, my salary is being paid in etc etc, and so as 'a gesture of goodwill' are making the payment.

Obviously I'm very pleased - fab customer service!

A good result for you, but it makes a bit of a mockery of the published T&C:cool:

It certainly does, but OP probably deserves the incentive more than someone (like me) who opens the account, goes to the max of the interest free overdraft, meets all other criteria then tries to claim another £100 in 6+ months time.
