Is my hoover messed up or just less dust around?

Options
Been using a new hoover for about 2 and a half months, first time I used it, the whole cup filled up with dust as old one wasnt that good at deep pickup(was fine for surface layer of dust and crumbs but nothing else)

Then each time I used it be it every 2 or 5 daysit picked up a lotof dust, so much so I got an eye allergy from the amount it picked up.

Then all of a sudden last week it seemed to stop picking up dust and feels like its not as close to the floor, i,e before it felt like it was almost sticking to the floor when picking up stuff, now it feels looser.

I took hoses off and cleaned them, reseated drive belt and cleaned the hole where the brushes connect to the hoses.

Still no dust pickup, is picking up crumbs of dirt though.

Just wondering why its not picking up dust anymore.

EDIT : may seem strange but only other crazy theory is the flat upstairs has been empty for about 6 months and someone moved in at same time as hoover stopped picking up dust.

What about the filters? Did you find them all and clean them?

Just one on the front that is a bit that clips off and I can see a vent but the vent looks empty.

And the one on the top of the dust tray which is clean.

Is it a hoover or another make? model No?

What does your instruction/manual say regarding cleaning/replacing/washing filters?

Filters may look clean but could still be blocked
    Is there only two filters?

    Have you emptied it, bag/container?

Check the brush position hasn't risen. The best position for my carpet is on the low setting. On high it just sucks and doesn't brush the carpet.

My filters are cleaned weekly and the drum emptied. It doesn't work so well clogged up.

Check that the brushes are rotating, and nothing jamming them. Had periodical problems with this happening in the past, and often it was caused by long hair or a bit of fringe from a rug.

Seem to be rotating as you can see as part of plasic is see through

Thought of another issue, a month ago my friend came round and after he left theres a stink in the hoover(Vax branded and bagless) and afterwards though the pickup was just as good the lint and stuff seemed stickier.

when I find mine stops picking up its usually because of the above.

What is the exact model? Have you checked the manual for troubleshooting? What does the manual say about cleaning and maintenance?

You said you checked the filters but did you actually clean them? On most brands the pre motor filter is recommended to be cleaned weekly, actually removing it and washing it not just tapping out the dust.

Not sure exact model as label is damaged, but it would explain why theres a smelly feet smell inside despite me taking the hoses off and cleaning them and washing the holder.
