Refunded as a gift voucher...?

Evening all,

I placed an order online with a craft shop. Not everything was in stock and four items were refunded.

However, they were refunded as a "gift" voucher, not back to my card - ie I can have my money back, but only if I place another order with the company.

I didn't think it was something that was actually allowed? Am I within my rights to press for an actual refund back to the card I paid with?

    Who is the company? If they're in the EU, then they should be refunding by the method you paid.
