In brief, CM set up using CSA calculation in 2010, worked out at £265 per month (I have one child).
4 years ago, first child born to NRP, payments dropped by £40, to £225 per month, he said he used the calculator to work it out.
Just had second child, but he has since been promoted at work. Should I expect another drop in payment or is it worth me asking CSA to do another calculation? I know he won't gove me any details of his earnings.

Many thanks!

You can use the calculator too.
You are probably best requesting a re-assesment, he is right not to disclose his earnings to you, let the csa do their bit.

I wouldn't expect him to show me his earnings, but at the same time, I don't want my child going without because he makes the figures up to suit himself.
I will see what happens this month, and take appropriate action.
I tried using the calculator on what I thought was his previous figure, but still unsure if there'd be a reduction with him having a second child.

On the 2nd csa system, there is a slight reduction, but every little helps.

If the original figures were used using CSA formula the amount payable with two children in NRP household would be about £212.

When you say ask the CSA to do another calculation is there an assessment in place? If so then your ex can't just work the figures out and change them themselves they need to report a change of circumstances.

If you have a private agreement then CSA no longer take new cases you will need to use CMS which is a gross pay scheme.

Just rang the CSA, I still have a case with them so updated my details and they are going to contact him for a new calculation. I think we should be better off on the old rates from what I can see looking at the calculators.
Waiting for the fall out now :(

  • The CSA should take off 5% per dependant

It's 15% for the first one and 5% more for every one after.

He's now admitted to having had a pay rise, but obviously didn't update this information with the CSA!

    He isn't obliged to.

If asked he has to provide the correct figures but there is no requirement to report a change of circumstances for salary increse.
