you might think about these cruises Depart from Porto to Regua and train return 60 Euros in May or go by train to Regua and get the river cruise back to Porto cost 55 euros both include lunch full details on the following website . It will be quite a long day but it is worth it. I think you can book in advance

A day trip from Porto up the River Duero will cost between £50 and £80 which will often include a basic lunch aboard the boat. it is probably best to get the boat first then return by train rather visa versa. The day trip takes you as far as Regua which give you a "flavour" of the river. I believe you can book in advance with some companies However the most scenic part pf the Duero is upstream from Regua. The best way to see the river is a week's river cruise but these are rather expensive.0

I see Manorhouse cruises do a day trip from Porto to Regua and then onto Pinhao returning by train to Porto . Is a long day leaving at 8 o'clock in the morning and getting back to Porto station about 20.35.Cost is between 73 and 78 euros per person depending on the month. it looks like it only runs weekly so we will need to investigate if it is only at weekends or if there is a mid week trip, Does anyone know the answer as it looks ideal for us.0
