I looking to urgently scrap my car (insurance renewal very soon) and as it had its day and does not even start anymore scrapping it will be more economical for me at the moment.
has anyone used the services of the above website and are they decent, i have read a couple reviews but they were quite old so was wondering if anyone had any recent dealings with them.

Why not just ring up a couple of local scrapyards and ask how much, if anything, they'll pay you to take it away. I imagine these are just a middle man taking a cut from the scrapper who would do the job anywyay0

Thank you of your quick response, called a couple scrapyards and they are offering far lower than the initial quote on cartakeback.
my biggest worry is if they are legit.0 -

How much is your worry worth? Are we talking about a tenner or hundred difference in quotes?0 -
I used them a couple of years ago - all went smoothly and was emailed the scrapping cert within a few days0

Not much but my MSE mindset is every penny counts. finally spoke to a local ATF (recommendation from a friend) and am arranging collection with them as they offered slightly better than Cartakeback
thanks for your advice0 -
I've used cartakeback 3 times now, they always paid more than my local breaker or the local scrap metal merchant place.
I delivered one to them, they uplifted two.
Never got scrapping certs from them, they wrote to me saying they were going to be selling them on.
Scraps down just now, for a Passat estate, they offer £10 if uplifted, £35 delivered.0 -

Thanks for the feedback, i went with a local scrappy which offered a slightly better price than cartakeback for collection.
Scraps are definitely down last time i scrapped i got £200 but that was 6 years ago now all i am getting is £60. shame really i wish the little girl didn't need to be scrapped but it would of cost me way too much to fix her. :rotfl:0
