Cheapest way to get a Chinese Visa (single entry)

There are 2 separate fees...
- One for the Visa [the Consular fee]
- One for the Agent you use.
They might be shown separately for clarity, but you need to add them together to get the botton line cost to you.0 -
thanks Marmaduke123, and thats why i use this site. So glad you pointed that out!
So the cost no matter what is over £200 per person even going through an embassy visit - is that right?0 -
£151 is the least expensive I've found [£85 + £66].0

That isn't correct, try going through the link posted by Pollycat
The cheapest price is £151, providing you are a UK citizen, and are willing to travel to one of their Visa centres.
The " Chinese Visa Application Service Centre " process all Chinese visas and have a list of their prices here http://www.visaforchina.org/LON_EN/upload/Attach/mrbj/289577.pdf
You will pay a premium if you use any one else

I went last March/April and a single entry visa cost me £84 in total by post. I didn't have to visit anywhere just sent it off with all the documentation and it came back fairly swiftly. I sorted it all through the links on the Chinese embassy website.
Prices may have gone up in that year of course!0 -

Looks like I wouldn't get a visa anyway as I have mental health problems. I'm not prepared to gamble £600 on flights and the visa fee to find out, anyway.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0

Can you trust the websites offering it cheaper? I want to go to Beijing at Easter as I'm studying Chinese politics, but pushing £200 for a visa is making me wince, especially as you have to have your flights booked before applying for it, so that's another £400 down the drain if it's refused.
Taiwan is probably just as interesting, and no need for a visa.0 -

I was actually hoping to go to both as I'm doing a uni project on relations between the two. Taiwan on it's own doesn't seem enough to justify traveling long haul though.callum9999 wrote: »How would they know if you don't tell them?
Because of the medication I'd have to take with me. Lying on the visa form by ticking 'no' to mental illness and then being found at the border with anti-psychotics seems a pretty sure fire way to have a really bad holiday...Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0
