I am appointee for my disabled son. It's a very easy process. I had to sign a form saying that I wished to be his appointee, and give a brief explanation why. A few weeks later, a lady from the DWP came to our house. She chatted with me about my reasons for believing my son couldn't manage his own money, met my son, and reminded me of the responsibilities of handling another person's money. I signed a form and that was it. It took less than twenty minutes.0
