Professional snagger

Hi,

I have learned a lot reading this forum but never posted before. I am buying a new build property and I have seen it discussed multiple times that a professional snagger is the way to go. Looking online though I can't find any reviews or recommendations.

Has anyone got any experience or recommendations of professional snaggers they can share?

Thanks!

I would also be interested in the above.

I have contacted a few and they range wildly:

Local reputable surveyors firm - £845 + vat with £175 + Vat for the follow up service
(no note of who will attend)

London based surveyor firm/ snagging and party wall specialists - £349 + Vat and £99 + vat follow up service + petrol @ 0.45p a mile
(note will be a fully trained surveyor with min 4 years experience and shows qualifications)

Looks like a random internet company - £550 all in inc follow up - (notes 'experienced snagger')
Please note I have a cognitive disability - as such my wording can be a bit off, muddled, misspelt or in some cases i can miss out some words totally...

We've just bought a new build property too and we still haven't decided about whether or not to get it professionally snagged so like OP would be keen to hear people's experiences. Thanks

I'd be very wary as to what these firms actually offer and cover. And more to the point how they indemnify themselves.

The devil as always, will be in the contractual detail.
  • We did this but with a local guy, recommended by other people on our new build estate. He charged £40 per hour and it took 5 hours including writing the report.

Money very well spent as he noticed loads that we wouldn't have.

Maybe ask around on your estate in case other people have done this.
  • Thanks for the replies. I am in the same boat I have looked at what appear to be national agency's that only do snagging but I can't find any reviews at all. I have also looked locally but I am still unsure if they are any good.

Has anyone used any of these agency's and had any good or bad experiences?

    Thanks
