A1 travel nightmare

This is advise for anyone thinking of booking an holiday with A1 Travel!!!DONT!!!.Back in september last year myself and my girlfriend booked our first holiday together to sharm in Egypt with A1 Terrible,I mean Travel.After what happened with the russian airliner that went down.We thought we might have heard back from A1 Terrible,I mean travel if it effected our holiday.But we heard nothing so we thought everything was okay.Anyway at the end of november a friend of mine told me to check with A1 travel just to make sure.So I phoned them and guess what.They told me our holiday had been cancelled.I asked them why didnt they inform me by phone or email.They said I should have been informed and couldnt understand why I hadn't.

So I asked them what where my options.they told me that they could offer me an alternative holiday.So I spent the next few days having them offer me holidays that were more expensive than they were on all the other sites and more expensive than the one we booked to sharm in Egypt.So after being messed around for days we decided that we wanted a full refund.They told me to phone them back in a few days to arrange the refund because they had to pass all my information onto their accounts team.I phoned back a couple of days later and that was when all the major problems started.

Myself and my girlfriend spent the next few weeks phoning them only to be passed from one person to the next being told something different every time we phoned them.There customer service is terrible and there accounts team is the worst I have ever dealt with.The arragonce and attitude from some of there employees is absolutely terrible.

I know someone will tell me that they are only an agency and not a holiday company but that does not change the fact that we dealt with them to book our holiday and it was them that took our money from my account within seconds of me booking it.It is also not an excuse to treat there customers the way in which they do.Me and my girlfriend have been lied to every time we have phoned them because they have come up excuse after excuse not to pay us our money back.

It as now been over 2 months since we first phoned them and the last time we phoned them was today the 2nd of feb only to be told by some horrible women with a serious atittude problem called Sandy from their accounts team that the last person we spoke to must have lied to us by telling us that we would be fully refunded before the end of january.She would not give us any information other than saying"I cannot give you that information".The only thing she did say was"phone back at the end of feb and we may be able to give you more information.What information is she talking about seeing as she couldnt give us any information anyway.

This was suppose to be our first holiday together and it as been completley ruined by A1 travel and there team of politicians.I am discusted with they way myself and my girlfriend have been treated and want to make sure none else is treated like this by them.I never put anything on forums complaining or otherwise.But I felt an uncontrolable urge to write this.

So the point of this rant,moan or complaint is to make you guys aware of what you are dealing with when you see the name A1 travel when you are looking for an holiday.

    The OP just needs to post in Praise, Vents & Warnings so that the people who like to read this stuff can see it and the rest of us can concentrate on posts that actually contain a question.

    When are you due to travel? And who is the flight bit booked with?

    At the moment airlines have only cancelled until the end of March (unless it's Easyjet who have cancelled until the end of May). If you are due to fly after this date then they won't refund you and in effect your holiday won't be cancelled.

    I realise A1 Travel have told you it's cancelled so I can only presume that this is a decision that they have taken for themselves rather than the airline itself cancelling it. If this is the case then you should have had the money back from them by now.

    I think you need to look at your booking details and check the information for your flight, you will then be able to see the flight booking reference and airline. Then give the airline a call directly and see if you flight has been cancelled or not and take it from there.

    If you travel after March and for any reason it's been your own choice to cancel then I'm afraid you won't be due a refund at all.

    The hotel part won't or shouldn't really be an issue as Sharm itself is still open and if you're original hotel has close then there's plenty of availability elsewhere at the moment!
