Now TV vs Virgin

Forgive me if I'm a bit clueless - my head is spinning from trying to compare tv packages.
I have Virgin TV, phone and broadband, and have negotiated a good deal with just their basic tv package. However, I noticed that Now TV (whose website is quite confusing!) offer a package of sky channels including sky arts (which you can only get on a more expensive Virgin package) for £6.99 a month. Is it possible to run the two together, i.e. have both Now TV and Virgin? It would cost more per month to upgrade my Virgin package, and I couldn't get Sky Atlantic.

the now TV box needs a spare HDMI socket on the TV
you can get the now TV a lot cheaper if you look out for vouchers, I git a new box and 6months entertainment from Tesco for £19 or £3.17pm with a free box
HUKD has most offers when they come up0
