Neighbour unhappy about my objection to their planning application - poss aggression

I'm pretty sure the neighbour could have tried a face to face before putting the council application in & decided not to bother. Which was a bad call, and now there's stress & hassle.
I'm all for a chat & tea & cake & good manners wherever possible. Even if my neighbour (& their g*d-awful extension) didn't bother, and got visited by planning twice as liberties were taken mid-build and they had to correct those "mistakes".
For today, have a witness & a discreet recording. For the future, watch what's agreed & compare it carefully to what is built. Report any discrepancies pronto.
Best of luck.0 -
Just do as Misterbaxter says, just say to her, that as the app is in you have already expressed your concerns and that it's now in the hands of the planners0

Thank you all for your replies. The lady did not turn up on my door step in the end (but no doubt she will at some point).
Within my letter to the council it did state that I did not overly object to some of the plans but had some concerns within the plans. One of them possibly being quite crucial to her getting the plan granted - we built our house a few years back and the council where very strict on the maximum ridge height of my house (5.2m). The plans that this lady has put in has a proposed ridge height on 5.9m. so I have stated this in my letter. I think this might be why she is possibly a bit angry?0 -
What is your problem with the ridge height? Will it impact you negatively at all? If it is just a case of you needing to do it when you did your extension then unfortunately planning rules change and the new rules may well allow them to do it.

Any comments you have made about ridge height are likely to be irrelevant to the Planners decision as this will be down to current policy which as 'phil24_7' may have changed since your extension was built.
If policy hasn't changed and ridge heights are limited then the Planners will pick that up and seek amendment to comply; this won't be as a result of your comments though. Had your neighbour spoken to you in advance you could have told them about this and potentially saved them some delay if it does get rejected.0
