Please help! Shades of posts.

Sorry I can't put a proper title to this thread, but it's not easy to describe in a few words!

Ok....here goes....

I come onto the MSE website everyday and the posts are usually in dark blue until I click on them, when they go a paler colour of blue. Any new posts that are added between my visits are dark blue, even if I don't come on for a few hours and there are lots of new ones. BUT.....
two days ago things went a bit loopy! Now, even when I'm on the site, the posts will ALL go pale blue asthough I've clicked on them (when I haven't). It's really spoiling my enjoyment of the site as I can't tell which posts I've viewed and which I haven't I even tried system restore last night, but although I thought it seemed ok, the problem returned again this morning.

Does anyone have any idea of what's going on? Is there a setting I can change?

Can anyone help? I've adjusted my privacy to default (medium) as I'm wondering if the problem is something to do with cookies, but when I refreshed a page on the site, all posts came up pale coloured again. I've looked on other sites and the problem is on those too (so it's something to do with my PC and not a problem with MSE). I haven't changed any settings recently, so I've no idea what's causing this.

Any brainboxes out there who can help me at all (I need a 'begging' smilie!)?
