I have just received an email from NatWest announcing the following changes:
Instant Saver
Currently paying 0.50% (0.75% on > £50,000)
New rate 0.25% on all balances > £1.
New accounts to be introduced at that time
Savings Builder
£1-£4,999 1.50%; £5,000-£10,000 1.00%; > £10,000 0.20%
(Different rates on different tiers of total balance? Not explained)
BUT depends on increasing balance by at least £100 each month else 0.10% for that month.
Premium Saver
£25,000-£49,999 0.75%
£50,000-£1,000,000 1.00%
> £1,000,000 0.20%
BUT only if no withdrawals that month otherwise
£25,000-£49,999 0.10%
£50,000-£1,000,000 0.20%
Don't all rush at once to take advantage of these new offers!

Why would anyone bother with these rates?Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0

What a shame I switched away from NatWest last year. I wonder if they'll take me back if I write them a grovelling letter? Perhaps I should just do things the old-fashioned way and bring the branch manager some flowers. Whatever it takes, I must get on board with these crazy deals while they're available; I predict overwhelming public demand will inevitably make NatWest pull them from the market.: )0

This is why I've switched my bank account for the first time to TSB from Natwest. 5% interest versus a maximum of 1.5%. No brainer really.0

I kept my e saver going for the last couple of years in case they came up with a decent rate, just closed the account had £1.37 in it half way to a cup of coffee0
