Open office

I have a newsletter attachment which I need to open, but every time I try to open it, it says I have to buy Microsoft office or get Edge (which I arleady have).

Is it possible to get Open office on my laptop, if so where is the safest place to get it from?

What sort of attachment is it? Do you need to open or just view it? If the latter, does your e-mail box not offer preview?

It's a document. No i'll only let me download it, I am using Yahoo mail. Also I am using windows 10 and the little flag in the right hand of my laptop screen says I have new notifications, but when I click on it to try and view it nothing happens.

I have gone into settings on Microsoft edge and turned 'do not track on' do you think that could have done something?

If all you need to do is view it or print it (but not edit it), you could install Microsoft Word Viewer.

I just need to view it, do you know why my new notifications tab in the right hand bottom corner isn't working please?

Just install Libre Office. You can open any Microsoft Office format document using it and also save to that format also.
