Hi, I have had help from this board before of which I have been truly grateful. I thought someone could tell me what is happening now. It is only me and my husband at home and when we both went to log on recently the password had been changed in our dial up connection, however we got online after inserting the correct one, does anyone know what causes this to happen. I would be grateful for any clues.shrewdalx

If you mean that it replaces it with 8 dots or stars regardless of the length of password you entered....
It hasn't changed. That's a security feature of Windows that masks the password length thus making it harder to guess.0 -
What makes you think the password has changed?
Does the dial-up connection box appear asking you for the password, you enter the password and tick 'remember or save' box and connect successfully. But the next time you connect it fails and you have to enter the password again, as if it has changed or it didn't save the one you typed in previously?
Also which operating system is this?0
